Be Apart Of The Stallions
The Staffordshire University American Football team are still recruiting members for the 2007/2008 BUAFL season. No matter how big you are, no matter how small, the Stallions are looking to sign up players with or without previous experience of playing the game.
The Staffordshire Stallions play in the British Universities American Football league (BUAFL) a season which run from late October to the end of March. Currently 5-0 in the North Midlands the Stallions are looking at making the post season and be apart of the BUAFL playoffs, and you can be apart of one the the Universities most successful teams.
Signing up for the Stallions makes you more then just part of the team. Graduating players often say that being a member of the American Football team made their University experience better then they could have expected. The team socialises more then every other team based at the University as we get together every Sunday to watch the NFL, as well as going out most Wednesday's and Friday's together, with the occasional trip to Hanley on a Monday night.
Is it for you?
If you have played a contact sport (for example) Rugby and you need a new challenge then this team is just for you. Playing American Football is a hard and demanding game, but it will bring out the best in you.
If you have no previous experience, then not to worry, it is very rare that someone joining this club has experience, but with dedicate coaches and returning players, it will not be long before you turn from a rookie to an advance person when it comes to the knowledge of the game.
Is it too late to join?
Whether you are a student studying at Keele University or Staffordshire University it is never too late for you to come and join the team. The Staffordshire Stallions excepts registration and membership throughout the season and academic year and will welcome you with top coaching from players and coaches.
If you would like to have more information about the team and joining feel free to leave a message on our forum or email the President of the team Gary Richardson at gary.l.r@staffordshirestallions.com who will give you more information if you require.
